Clerical Caricatures

Something I've wanted to do for awhile-

My Bishop, Bishop Kevin Rhoades qualifies as "one heckuva guy". I consider myself extremely fortunate to live with this man as my Shepherd. My children and I offer a Hail Mary for him practically every night. I can't say enough good about him.

Anyway - I've done caricatures off and on over the years (see other samples at www.pnichols.com). If you know of a priest or bishop who could use a caricature, whether for a birthday, ordination, etc., just drop me an email at pauln420@aol.com

A Dissenting Bishop's Greatest Fear:

I can see it now - they could sell t-shirts to the Cardinal Arinze "Attitude Adjustment" Tour 2007 - coming soon to a dissenting Chancery near you!

Archbishop Slomin Shield - NOT

Let the sheep run free! I'm sure the good Archbisop Wuerl used today as a backdrop to phone his friend Nancy Pelosi and try to bring her back to the fold. (Insert sarcastic laugh here).

Same old story in D.C.

New Archbishop, same old tired pass issued to those who advocate the slaughter of the innocents - See story here : http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=8397

No need for this guy anymore

Apparently the Vatican doesn't know what to do with "enemies", except maybe to redefine them as friends and make house calls on them. The Church Militant has definitely been relegated to a relic of the past, but hopefully, one day, the Spirit of Lepanto will rise again.

Here's a spot for Mahony, Brown, Trautman, et al

Can't wait to start throwing the dirt on this sad chapter in Church history...

Bishop Trautman doesn't like "Pro Multis"

This Trautman character apparently thinks his flock is too stupid to understand the difference between "many" and "all". He's another candidate for the Kamp Kumbaya Retirement Home. "Trautman, however, said that altering the translation of pro multis now could give a misleading impression of what the church teaches about the significance of Christ shedding his blood on the Cross.“That change easily could be misinterpreted as denying the faith of the Roman Catholic Church that Christ died for all people,” the press release quoted Trautman as saying." The REAL Barney is ticked off at an imposter!

At the end of a recent "Halloween Mass", Fr. Fred Bailey, serving in the Diocese of Orange under Bishop Tod Brown, changed into a Barney costume to give the final blessing. Related story and video : http://romancatholicblog.typepad.com/roman_catholic_blog/2006/11/diocese_of_oran.html You can also read about his "apology" to Tod "Don't Anybody Kneel" Brown, awaiting his recommendation. Wouldn't you love to know what that recommendation would be?

Bishop Brown hates the Latin Mass (old news)

Everyone knows Bishop Tod the Mod hates the Latin Mass. This idea just came to me as I was watching an old Twilight Zone episode. Related post from our friends at the Roman Catholic Blog :http://romancatholicblog.typepad.com/roman_catholic_blog/2006/09/concerned_roman.html

Mahony is at it again

The good Cardinal shows his "stripes" - literally. Rather than do anything remotely "Catholic", he sits around while some fruitcakes doodle a new symbol for him to endorse.

See the story here on the Archdiocese's website :

Then read more about it at Gerald's blog:
