Catholic Husbandry 101

Since Sunday's 2nd reading was on the controversial issue of wives submitting to husbands, maybe the USCCB should have this inserted into the missalette. This way, you could listen to the whole version of the reading without offending the feminists in the pews. Although, on second thought, they'd probably still be offended anyway, since there's really no placating them.

I've not heard of any Catholic Husband's group complaining that the shorter version only deals with how husbands should treat their wives, but I've heard that the Catholic Husbands United for Marital Peace (CHUMP) have held symposiums on the issue. ;o)~

LOL. With that logic, Paul is the ultimate mysogynist, and his work deserves no right in the Bible: See 1 Tim 2:9-15! Take that female (and male) feminists!

I'm sure many of them feel that way, Nick!

Not sure what to put in the poll!

We were going to use the short, PC version, but the lector took his own initiative and read the long version anyway. The priest said he hadn't prepared a homily to "deal with" the long version.

Wow. As if the priest has to "prepare" for that. Him saying so gives the impression that he's ashamed of the Word of God.

"Him saying so gives the impression that he's ashamed of the Word of God."

And thus is the crux of the problem with the Church since Vatican II. To me, it seems like most in the Church, especially the leadership, at best are embarrassed about the Church or at worst hold the Church in contempt!

Here's my take on last Sunday's Readings: http://thehoogysone.blogspot.com/2009/08/hard-sayings.html

My current parish used the long version. However, two years ago the female lector in my previous parish changed the wording to wives “support their husbands”. She then went back to the pew and was congratulated by her teen age daughter. This helped me decide to change parishes.

Sheesh. I'm sure she had the support of the parish priest on that one. Amazing. But then again, maybe not.

May God touch the hearts of these perfidious feminists.

In the Church Ressourcement is Like a Sail, and Aggiornamento is Like the Boat. Without Either, the Other will be perished forever!(comment please!)

If husbands took a leadership role in the house no matter how much pian it initially costs, and mind you there is pain. And if he prays famileis would be saved.
Remeber and inversion of roales in the family is anahrchy and anarchy is a few short steps to satanism
