The press loves a good scandal...
...if for no other reason than to use it to bludgeon the Church. During Holy Week, the press could hardly contain themselves in their efforts to tarnish the Church. Their glee was two-fold; not only could they pounce all over the Pope, but they got to do it during Holy Week. I'm sure they were all high-fiving one another off camera.
Pray for the Holy Father as he carries his cross.

It seems to me that the anti-catholic media is able to find some scandal to put in the news around Catholic holy days in which they blame the Catholic Church and everyone instead of just those who took part in evil. Is this just a coincidence? I don't think so. It is a hate campaign.
It IS a hate campaign. They attack Christ through His Church.
And of course, attacking the Church allows them to omit the part about homosexuals being the problem here.
What an appropriate depiction, especially since we just celebrated Easter
I will certainly pray for the Holy Father.
We are under attack - but we will weather the storm!
We always do, Brian, that's why they hate us so much!
Paul,
God knows we don't agree on everything, but on this one, my brother, I am 100% with you.
I pray for the pope who is truly carrying the cross with Christ in the name of Truth.
Hey Jean, you know we're speaking the truth when we agree...hehe
I explain to my sons when we pray at night that we always have to remember the Pope because he's under attack.
Can you blame them? It's easier than working for a living! ;^}D
Hey Mr.Nichols,Thanks for another wonderful Cartoon.
I agree, the Poor Holy Father was Bishop of Rome 5 yrs and everyone of the secular media has been thowning shoes at him (Bush sympathizes with this)
God save the Queen?
No,God save the Pope.
The world is so against us it make me so sad,but what is even sadder is i use to be one of them, mocking the pope for the failings of a few of his priests,God knows the pope doesn't have super powers,he can't MAKE the priest behave,For the Good priests Gloria in Excelsis,For the Bad All I can say is Kyrie Ellision ,
Mr.Paul Nichols,
when will they learn?
(Cross the Tiber Easter 2010,to many a insults)
Excuse me
I meant "Throwing"
Haha, the more I practice my German in Germany the more I forget my English spelling.
Archbishop Sheen said many years ago, that, 'show me the religion that is the most persecuted; and I'll join it.' That paraphrase was meant to mean The Catholic Church, to which he already belongs. Pray for the Pope and those who persecute The Faith.
Great cartoon.
Yes, the Church is persecuted, and we can expect it to get worse - as the world continues to embrace Satan, the Church will be even more of a contrast to the world.
The great mistake of Vatican II (among many) is that the Church thought it could reconcile with the world. The only "reconciliation" that can occur is if the Church abandons all She believes. Just as there is always enmity between Our Lady and the snake, so shall it be between the Church and the world.
Our Confidence is that God promised never to abandon us. No matter how they try, even the gates of Hell will NEVER prevail against HIS Church.
Let's pray for our holy Father for strength. We should all rally round him because he is carrying the burdens of the Church.
Good one. The anti-Catholicism is strong out there.
Paul, you make good cartoons. It is true that there are anti catholic elements of the press, and some are really kicking the Church while She's down
The Catholic church is merely getting what it deserves. You guys can't be serious.
