National Catholic Reporter picks their "Person of the Year"

Not much of a surprise here, they've picked Sr. Keehan, the "nun" who carried water for Obama's abortion-supporting "health-care" bill in 2010. I'm sure the Devil himself couldn't have found a more worthy recipient of the "award".

While we may chortle at their idiocy, the fact remains that there are still more of them (dissenting Catholics) than there are of us (Catholics). The Vineyard is still being devastated.

Some interesting comments after their editorial. A few brave souls actually attempt to defend the Faith: http://ncronline.org/news/people/ncrs-person-year-2010

The "biological solution" will soon take care of this imbalance. Gen-X and beyond of lukewarm faith do the rational thing -- leave the church they disagree with. Those left of the younger generations are far more orthodox, on average, than their parents. So what we have to worry about in a generation orthodox Catholics being outnumbered by the secularists.

Which begs the following question: which group do you think will breed more? Then the issue becomes, after another generation or two, our numbers vs. the Mohammedans and/or Mormons.

Well, I've got 4, so I've at least done a little of my part. Growing up, I always envisioned myself with 6 or more, but that didn't happen.

I wonder which group does better - Mormons or Muslims? I sure hope the Mormons do - we don't need a Muslim baby boom.

And of course the more Traditional Catholics have larger families, but are there enough?

I agree on the "biological solution" - soon the NCR's largest subscriber group will be nursing homes.

I can't tell you how much I enjoy your cartoons. You have a talent I wish I had, but God just didn't wire my brain for it.

We are heading for "remnant" status no matter what, but it is for the purification of the Church. I thank God for every good Catholic out there.

Thanks Barb. Since I never made it as a stand-up comedian, I suppose God figures I could exhibit my sense of "humor" another way.

I think you may be on to something regarding "remnant" status. Eventually the Church will have to deal with those from within who are trying to redefine the faith (witness Hubbard's recent fiasco regarding communion to Cuomo.).
