Well, if Jesus could clear out the Temple...

...why won't the Church throw out the bad eggs? Nancy Pelosi once again thumbs her nose at the Church. At what point does the Church finally say "enough"? Is it because the American Bishops have been in bed so long with the Democrat party that they can't bring themselves to kick 'em to the curb? Could it be that finally, they're learning that the Party of Death includes the Church on it's List of Death?

Why O'Malley?

That's Governor O'Malley of Maryland. He's as bad as the rest of them.

If you read the NCRegister, they'd tell you that the bishops are in bed with the Republicans.

In the end, it's impossible for us to actually understand the decision facing the bishops of these politicians. I think they realize that simply excommunicating them won't do any good (what it'll do is make them martyrs, which is worse!!!) Give our bishops a break- we can't understand the position they're in.

Sure, Brett, give 'em a break. I understand that they can't just go shooting from the hip.

"Excommunicating them won't do any good?". Well, consider what good it does to have some of the most high-profile Catholics in the U.S. flouting Church teaching. To me, it shows that anybody can basically make up their own doctrine and still consider themselves Catholic.

The warm huggy pastoral approach has not worked. The Church needs to use her authority, otherwise she'll lose it.

Public excommunications need to be had for all of these politicians. If the Bishops' won't excommunicate them...Bishops, petition Rome to name me Bishop of Orange, ordain me tomorrow. I'll excommunicate them within the first 24 hours of my episcopal consecration ;p...and give a Liturgical Catechesis to boot. I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it.....thus endeth my rant.

Kerry apparenty opposes the HHS mandate, and may sign on to Rubio's bill.

Might want to replace him in the bad egg carton with Kathleen Kennedy Townsend.

Kerry is opposed to it? Wow, that's amazing. Townsend would be a fitting replacement.
