William F. Buckley, Jr. 1925 - 2008
In honor of WFB's passing, I present an old cartoon from 1987. My political outlook owes much to the influence of Bill Buckley and National Review. As anyone who'd watched "Firing Line" way back in the day can attest, Buckley was always leaning over in his chair and his ties were usually loose. I knew that he received occasional ribbing from others regarding these poor habits, so I drew a cartoon and sent it to him. The top part is the beginning of my letter to him. He printed it, along with the cartoon, in December 1987.
Rest in peace, Bill.

A Cardinal (at the Vatican) talks about priests being too "worldly". Gee ya think? Not that they're all that way, of course. But generally speaking, he's on to something. Maybe it can be traced back to that "embracing of the world" stuff from Vatican II?

Abe Foxman can't be satisfied
Well, we went and changed the Good Friday prayer, in a spirit of [appeasement] and what happens? They're still not happy. How dare we actually pray for someone not of our own faith. How dare we hope they see what we see.
It ain't enough. Read his statement here:
I find it interesting that at the bottom of the page of this statement, the ADL says they were "founded in 1913, (and) is the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry."
Gee, I wonder if they have a program to counteract their own hatred against Christ and all of His followers?
