My goodness, you've been cartooning a lot lately.

haha, yes, it's been a fruitful time. Getting as much in before I hit the beach.

I don't see a guitar and tambourine in that picture...LOL

Yea - that's what it needs! He probably has already pawned them off, though...

The man in this cartoon is sad because there are people hating him for making a joyful noise unto the Lord. Here I thought Christ taught us to love each other, right or wrong. It may not have been to YOUR liking, but it was a very appreciated way of making music at the time. Why cant we just move forward without turning the knife when you seem to have the upper hand?

No, Mark, what he's sad about is that his crowd's attempted overturning of the Faith has crashed on the rocky shores of reality.

People have seen his vision for the Church, and are finally waking up and rejecting it.

They promised a new direction, but what it turned out to be was nothing but a dirt road to nowhere.

Thankfully, he and his generation will be but a strange memory soon.

Well, since there seems to be a sense of paranoia here, let me add to it. He and his "crowd" as you call it are not going away, but are going to lie in wait for a while... not unlike you probably did during the last 40 years. The vision was to find an authentic faith, one that comes from the hearts of each and every member of the Catholic church. It may not have been the right way in the long run, but it did uphold the faith in its own way. Now we have an opportnity to find a better way, and instead your "crowd" tears down and belittles anyone who might have been following their God-inspired heart at the time. Luckily, I (as well as many others) think that there is room in the Church for everyone. Memory, yes, but not forgotten.

There is no need to "find" an "authentic faith." The authentic faith has already been given to us by Jesus Christ, and needs no improvement. Anything other than what we have been given by Christ is not authentic.

Hmmmm...where have I heard that one before? Let me see...let me think...oh, yeah. Luke, chapter 4, verse 13:

And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.

Mark, the crowd that lies in wait has no children. They all use contraception, and their two child families cannot compare with the traditional families who will be providing the Church with her future priests. The liberal Catholics will become extinct, by virtue of their own means.

What makes you think that the 'emergin church' is saying anything more than the authentic faith given by Jesus ? Nothing could be further from the truth.
We are just living the same faith with what we are, here and now.
