Me thinks they doth protest too much...

I missed this a couple of weeks ago, but Mary Rose over at the Prodigal Catholic Daughter has a post about more whining at the National Catholic Distorter about the investigation into LCWR communities.

She does a great job of commenting on the whining:

Dang, Paul! I'd sure hate to meet one of your habitless nuns in a dark alley! That woman looks like Alien in a polyester pantsuit!

hehehe - they all look the same, don't they? It's like there's a dissenting nuns handbook out there. (Probably published by Oregon Catholic Press)

Hi Paul,
even though, as usual, I wouldn't put things as "directly" as you do, I agree with the main discourse of your article.
One thing on your cartoon, however, bothers me: the last word on the wall is "Environment". Is it a bad thing to care about the environment ?
As christians we have the duty to protect the creation God gave us, right ?
Can you explain what you intended with this to me ?

Hi Jean-Remy,

Funny you caught that. I wanted to put "environtmentalism" on it, but obviously there wasn't enough space.

I just left it at "environment" because there are many "kooks" out there; the earth-worshipping "nuns" who chant to Gaia and all that nonsense.

Gosh, you certainly mastered the art of labelling people.
