Bedtime Stories for Liberals

Apparently the parishoners at St. Mary's in Platteville, WI don't take too kindly to having priests who might be faithful to the Magisterium... Read about their whining: http://www.thonline.com/article.cfm?id=286980

There's a difference between "faithful to the magisterium" and being unnecessarily extreme. The Society of Jesus Christ the Priest is too far out there to be effective in addressing the needs of our church today. Folks are leaving for many reasons, and orders like this will only scare them into running faster.

Well, what exactly would those "needs" be that should be addressed?

You're really that blind?

Paul Nichols said...

I suppose I am. I figure the priests are there to administer the sacraments, offer the sacrifice and assist us on our journey to Heaven.

That's probably the same mistaken assumption most people have.

Well, Anonymous, you've had 3 posts now, but you haven't stated what these needs are that me and so many others (apparently) are too blind to see.

Feel free to expound on it all...

Paul, You will notice that the TH only quoted those who were unhappy with the changes. This is typical of their bias (I should know). I live across the river in DBQ.

I also know that there are many parishioners that will welcome the change as long overdue.

& despite what anonymous says, there will not be the huge exodus he claims there will be. In fact many that have left already will probably come back.

It seems to me that Bishop Morlino is ensuring that the real needs of the parishoners are going to be met by these changes. Mass offered as it should be offered, the truth proclaimed, sin called sin, people called to repentance & penance. Despite what anonymous may think, these are the basic needs of today or any day.

The newspaper bias doesn't surprise me, Al. Anytime the media can find a group protesting the Church, they play it up all they can.
