I have actually prayed for the Lord to take my hearing at Mass...oh how wonderful it would be to be able to shut out the horrible modern music!

There is a parish here in Minneapolis that I won't go to unless I can't get anywhere else.

In my time out here in AZ, I've noticed that there are two kinds of Guitar Mass-the unbearable kind, and the tolerable kind. The unbearable kind involves modern or tent-revival music (as was the case with the church closest to where I live), while the tolerable kind actually follows the formula in the missal booklet.

Yet in spite of their best efforts, I find myself thinking more on matters of God when there are NO musical instruments playing during the Mass. Go figure :/

It's kind of bizarre that bad music is worse than no music at all.

Yes, sometimes no music is better. That's why sometimes I go to 7 AM - no music at all.

Love this cartoon. Any of the characters could be me. I am grateful to attend the Extraordinary Form, although the music there also has its problems. We need a lot of solid liturgical training for people who lead the choir.
